New build mixed use development in the heart of the Canning Circus area of Nottingham. The development is for retail/commercial use at ground floor facing onto Derby Road with student accommodation in the form of studios across the five floors above. The new building respects the form, scale and massing of the adjacent historical buildings and adopts a balanced rhythm to the rooflines and steep incline of Derby Road.

The Building Services design centred around electric heating and hot water provided by air source heat pumps. The ventilation employs acoustic attenuator passive ventilators to achieve the acoustic performance whilst considering mitigation of summer overheating using thermal modelling.

Duties: Full detail design to Stage 4, including site monitoring, SBEM, summer overheating assessments and EPCs.
